Miller noticed a common theme among comments on game trailer releases: “Why don’t they make a movie like this?” Miller and his team agreed with this sentiment and decided to create a show that would incorporate the often intensely realistic graphics seen in these trailers.

Secret Level is being developed by fans of gaming for gamers, featuring some of the most iconic franchises in video game history. The second season of Squid Game is coming in just a few months! The first season of the South Korean survival drama quickly became Netflix’s most-watched show ever. A second season was teased and fans have been waiting for it.

What we know so far:

Picking off where the first season ended we can expect to see the return of Seong Gi-hun (Player 456), played by Lee Jung-jae. Seong is on a mission to expose and dismantle the organisation behind the brutal competition. The season is expected to explore his transformation and his determination to stop the games, even as he faces new and deadlier challenges.

A trailer has been released and we can see our protagonist with his newly coloured pink hair. Very little has been revealed about the new plot so far, as it’s being held under wraps.

However the production team has anounced that fans can expect more of the high-stakes games that made the first season stand out. The introduction of new characters, including Young-hee’s boyfriend Cheoul-su.

Returning and New Cast Members

We know about several characters from the first season who will make a return. In addition to Lee Jung-jae reprising his role as Gi-hun, Lee Byung-hun will be back as the enigmatic front man, and Wi Ha-joon will return as detective Hwang Jun-ho. Gong Yoo, who played the mysterious recruiter, is also set to make an appearance.

We also get a list of new characters that will appear. Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, and Park Gyu-young. Not much is known about what their role will be in the upcoming season.

Release Date and Future Seasons

Netflix has confirmed that Squid Game Season 2 will premiere on December 26, 2024. If you worry about the story being over rest assured! A third season has already been planned and will be released in 2025!

In the mean time hopefully we will get more teasers and trailers that will provide glimpses into the dark and twisted world of Squid Game. With the stakes higher than ever, Season 2 looks to deliver us the same kind of suspense and tension the first season provided.
