Disney’s Snow White – The live-action musical adaptation
This version of Disney’s Snow White is a live-action musical that re-imagines the iconic 1937 movie.
The tale of Snow White was originally crafted by the Brothers Grimm, a German pair consisting of Jacob (1785–1863) and Wilhelm (1786–1859). These two scholars dedicated themselves to gathering and publishing folklore. Among their collected stories in what we now refer to as the Brothers Grimm universe are Cinderella, The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Sleeping Beauty. These narratives were part of their inaugural compilation titled “Children’s and Household Tales,” published in 1812.
Jumping ahead to 1912, a Broadway play named “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was produced. This story later found new life as an animated film created by Walt Disney in 1937.
Disney’s latest adaptation of Snow White is set for exclusive release in theatres on March 21, 2025. The film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
